Ingredients
- 400g Gourmet Streaky Bacon, chopped
- 400g Divella Penne Pasta
- 1 jar Mutti Basil and Pesto Pasta Sauce
- 300g Mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Cooking Instructions
Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add your pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta and set aside.
Prepare the Bacon:
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving a small amount of bacon fat in the pan.
Cook the Mushrooms and Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they start to brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Combine and Serve:
- Add the Mutti pasta sauce to the skillet and stir to combine with the mushrooms and garlic.
- Return the crispy bacon to the skillet.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
