Quick and Easy Midweek Pasta

  • Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add your pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta and set aside.
  • Prepare the Bacon:

    • In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving a small amount of bacon fat in the pan.
  • Cook the Mushrooms and Garlic:

    • In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they start to brown, about 4-5 minutes.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Combine and Serve:

    • Add the Mutti pasta sauce to the skillet and stir to combine with the mushrooms and garlic.
    • Return the crispy bacon to the skillet.
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
