Ingredients
- 1 Whole Ham or Half Ham from The Meat Box
- 1 jar Pepper & Me Ham Glaze
- Handful of whole cloves (optional, for decoration)
Cooking Instructions
Warm the Ham for Easy Skin Removal:
- Preheat your oven to 160°C (fan-forced).
- Place the ham on a rack in a large roasting pan. Cover loosely with foil and warm in the oven for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Ham:
- Remove the ham from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
- Use a sharp knife to carefully lift and remove the skin, leaving a thin layer of fat intact.
- Score the fat in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
Optional Clove Decoration:
- If desired, press a whole clove into the centre of each diamond for a festive touch and added aroma.
Glaze and Cook the Ham:
- Brush a generous layer of Pepper & Me Glam Ham Glaze over the scored fat.
- Return the ham to the oven and bake for 1.5–2 hours, basting every 20–30 minutes with more glaze to build a beautifully sticky, caramelised coating.
Optional Caramelised Finish:
- For an extra golden, glossy finish, increase the oven temperature to 200°C for the last 10 minutes of cooking.
Rest and Serve:
- Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.
